Mercedes engine - Daytripper - 12-07-2019

Looking at a 2011 freightliner Columbia with a Mercedes engine are they any good are the engines a piece of junk? Pulling a 45' trailer with a light load 390 rears 10spd

Never heard of one making it much past 500k without an inframe.

I would not touch it, parts and repairs, even if the rig was free.

Not known for longevity, no compression brake, no resale, you MUST go through freight liner for parts. I'd stay away from them just like the maxfarts.

The Pre-egr Mercedes we’re reliable, but egr Mercedes are lemons!
My Friend had a 2006 with fuel injector issues!
He Had a problem, now he has a different problem!
