Fmi 7 spn3464 - Mattman - 04-22-2020

Any off the top of your head ideas?

Started truck left it running about 10 minutes to warm up. Check engine and service advised came on. Put about 300 miles on it, runs like normal. Probably been shutdown and started 3 times, hasn't went off yet.

Have to unplug my eld to plug up laptop haven't wanted to stop long enough for that.

Thanks kozakvod .

I have the Amber check engine light. Throttle is working cause I have been driving it. Wonder how it could get out of adjustment?
Figured it would be a self calibrating assembly. Have multiple position sensors in the throttle pedal.

I could be wrong in thinking it's referring to the throttle pedal

You bet!

Could’ve just been a fluke one time ecm check that didn’t produce the reading it wanted and threw a code. Id bet it’s not even active and probably only had 1 instance.

Happens quite often with all these dang sensors as you know.

this is the most common solution to this type of problem...

On fourth start up light went out and showing no codes in dash. My truck has the smart navigation.

Going to run it and probably won't see it happen again. Least I hope not. Would be a drag if truck would only run at idle due to throttle pedal not working.

Okay.

I'm NEVER allowing my engine to be power washed again. Common sense prevails and this just stands to reason.

I think Cummins says after 3 successful test the CEL will go out. Possibly could have had the slightest bit of moisture on a connector on morning start up and threw the code. Engine warms up, moisture dries up, code goes inactive. I just read through the shop talk about this code and I'm pretty convinced that's what happened.

A common theme prevails: 1) CEL comes on, 2) EGR is disabled 3) Possible loss of power

A never-ending cycle.
