ISX 435 CM871 DOHC Removal - ChrisMc - 06-27-2023

Does anyone know if the IFSM sprocket has to be pulled out of the head in order to remove the injector cam?

The assembly does need to be pulled back away from the head. I think Rawze has videos on his YouTube channel where he overhauled his engine and he shows the cam removal in these.

Yes, in the videos he cleared everything to pull the head. I'm just changing cams and the valve train so I'm trying to remove as little as possible.

maybe pulling only the gear pump away instead of the whole IFSM??>.. just a thought.

Brain fart lol. I defaulted to an overhaul oops.

The IFSM needs to be removed or pulled back regardless. The gear that contacts the cam is an idler between the fuel pump and the cam. There's no other way.
