0559 code, New pump head?
2016 ISX15. About 600k. Someone demandated it previously. Just shut off going down the road and wouldn’t restart. Tons of emission related codes all inactive, 0559 the only active code. Lift pump works, had about 120psi at the filter head check port. Capped injectors etc, still no fire. On Insite commanded pressure of about 6k, only would see 150-200psi occasionally.

It’s had a new pump head at some point. But I pulled it apart. Both plungers are stuck. Once in a great while one might slowly fall down, but otherwise you have to pull on them manually to get them to move.

No shi#t anywhere I can see. Both followers look very nice. Lines, and cut open filter look good, I’m sure it’s a new filter though.

My question is-do I just buy a new head from KW or Cummins, or we have a local fuel injection place that remans them. I have them do a lot of turbos, 3406 and older cummins fuel pumps etc. I have not had too many isx pump issues. Just kind of in the fence which way to go. Thanks

Buy new, not worth the risk of a non cummins reman, if you shop around may be able to price it better. Sometimes my local international shop has better prices on paccar parts than the cummins shop.

You also need to copy the program from the ecm and e-mail it to me for a proper review of what someone did in there too. Make sure it is not harmful.

I plan to in the morning. I sent you one on their other truck last year. IIRC they had it turned to 700hp from 565 and you sent a whole list of the mess it was. I kinda expect this is gonna have same stuff in it.
Plus whoever did it left everything intact, filters/egr etc. I don’t know how long they’ve run it like that. Thank you.

Figured I’d show prices for anyone curious. New Cummins pump from KW and misc gaskets. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I saw several pump heads online from aftermarket places ranging 2800-3300.

Rawze found the tune was a mess and harmful. Injection timing cranked to the moon, 700hp, motor originally 550. Customer just wanted it back to stock so put the factory file back into it.

Thanks Rawze.
