It seems to be a common problem lately with these cm871. I always say if it is going to happen it is right when weather starts to change to either hot or cold. Same in your home hot water heaters a/c heat same stuff.

RE: isx cm871 coolant pressurized
Just got back from the dealership that is doing my in frame... They got the head off, the gasket was not in that great of shape in several spots. The head was very difficult to get off. The outside bolts were not the issue, it was the center head bots that gave them a helluva time. Jamie, my mechanic, said that was the toughest head he has ever messed with, she did not want to come off.

It was the head gasket from what he could tell, but is still sending the head out to have it tested, on their dime. I thought that was pretty good of them.

Ain't that the truth... I am suspecting that these past below zero winters are what killed mine. This year was great, but the last two... I think mine went in 2014 and just progressed from there. The @m*m^2 just prolonged the agony and kept her on the road...

I ve noticed that with fan clutch onn at all times nothing happens. And with fan off amd NORMAL TEMPERATURE i IMMEDIATELY lose coolant. System is being pressurized. Water is leaking from overfill hose. Any ideas??

Last week I had the same issue. It was the compressor head. Funny, I bought a new reman compressor a month ago, whoever has rebuilt that head he tightened the bolts too hard (they are rated 5 Nm) when I took them off it felt a lot more than that. One bolt was cracked, loosed gasket, pressure in the coolant system. It is a easy fix, buy a repair kit from cummins 150-170$. Instead of draining the coolant off I used two end caps ./uploads/201605/post_1795_1463430400_d3882c8b1587afc7c9d3815fe08537ac.jpg and two threaded plugs ./uploads/201605/post_1795_1463430475_1bce6179c148d3a5783a06b0db956441.jpg to block the coolant flow
