2014 IH prostar ISX15 need a little help and advice it’s my first truck
I bought this Single axle day cab with the 450hp isx15 with 310k miles On it to pull a 30k lb dump trailer to haul my equipment and sand / gravel locally. So it’ll be making 3-4 30-50mile runs every day. The first 5k miles were problem free, and then she died early one morning on my way to a job. It was the vgt stuck closed so I had to remove the actuator and manually move the gear enough to limp it back home. I have since replaced the turbo cartridge and actuator, ordered an inline 6 datalink adapter and a laptop and block off kit from the interweb. Is that everything needed to calibrate the actuator? Currently all the emissions components are in place and working properly (at least no check engine lights or signs of failure) but I am a little concerned that now that I am using this truck for such short trips that might be short lived. So I would like to have a plan in place to make this truck reliable and suitable to its new purpose.

everything that is needed to inspect, replace, and re-calibrate the turbo is in this video ...

and if you do not plan on de-mandating it, then do a full EGR tune-up to ensure it does not have DPF issues...

I will be de-mandating it in the very near future, but my immediate problem is with the insite 8.7 I just installed on a dedicated computer and it is asking for licensing agreement

I even removed the actuator and did the install process again and it passed the install and calibration test again but the faults remain

those 2 codes are generally associated with actuator/turbo communications issues. They are not common, nor normal to see.

maybe ckeck the J1939 network resistances ...

Did someone clueless completely unplug all the stuffs/harnesses under the truck?.. if so then they could have screwed up the network terminator resistor connection, etc.

I tested the j1939 and it reads 102
And nothing was unplugged except the actuator, speed sensor and the other sensor on the turbo when I changed it out
