N14 celect hello, have few questions about this engine that friend of mine bought the truck with, 1.cannot connect to ECM with in site , tried weather connector also , can connect with jpro(using diagnostic port) and it recognize engine and all parameters on engine if i connect to weather connector with nexiq 2 it sees engine on datalink 2. truck runs with oil temp around 230 and up to 250 on hills , read some comments that ts normal for this engine but there is a little talk about replacing oil thermostat from 220 to lower one 3. its low on power , as far as my friend say it boosts only 20psi , any thoughts appreciated | |||

RE: N14 celect high oil temps like that is NOT normal. Something is wrong. Likely timing not set right, or excessive boost, either of which is causing too much internal engine friction and shortening engine life. a lower temp oil thermostat will only serve to hide the issue. adapter needs to be set to J1708 to talk to ecm.
