What exactly is this? Photo included Can someone please tell me what this is in the photo. The part in question is circled in blue. Reason for wanting to know is, it was on the truck when I first saw it and then it was removed so i am curious. Thanks User's Signature: VOLVO VNL 780 Cummins 450HP CM871 W/13 Spd

RE: What exactly is this? Photo included It is a "Kleen-Oil" bypass oil filter. I've had a few of them in the past. I believe they are made in England. I've gotten filters for them in Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary. But that was about eight years ago. Canada = http://www.kleenoil.ca USA = http://www.kleenoilusa.com

RE: What exactly is this? Photo included If someone had a bypass filter kit on it, that is great for keeping soot levels down in the oil. Just make sure you check that overhead cams if you suspect they were doing extended oil drains and using synthetic. I have seen a lot of cam failures because people do that bypass filter + synthetic + extended oil drain intervals crap. Just my own $0.02 worth of thoughts any ways.
