Installing fuel pump cm2250

Got a new fuel pum for my cm2250, how does the fuel pump go in the gears does it need to be timed? I see a dot on the gears

The engine needs to be in the "PIN" position on the crank. After that, this is how the gear should be aligned during the install.

It is to prevent excess engine vibration.

That's why I took a gamble and bought a used 2 cylinder pump and just updated the plungers,rollers and tappets.
