RE: X15 questions (03-13-2020 )Ben50291 Wrote: ... The performance motor has stronger internal parts including the driveline. Please do not make statements like that based solely on assumptions or opinions alone (or perhaps re-regurgitated crap off social medai sites). here are the actual differences ... x15 mid-tier (X15 CM2350 X114B – Efficiency Series. 450hp engine was referenced)... ----overhead cam: 3690406 ----pistons: 3691387 ----connecting Rods: 3689108 ----Block: BB1958-assy (casting 4311621) ----crank: 3691444-assy (3691443 crank w/o tone rings, etc.) ----head: PP10489 (4101454 exhaust valves, 3685996 intake valves ) ----injectors: PP10425 x15 big tier (X15 CM2350 X116B - Productivity Series. 605hp engine was referenced) ... ----overhead cam: 3690406 ----pistons: 3691713 ----connecting Rods: 3689108 ----Block: BB1950-assy (casting 5440753) ----crank: 3691444-assy (3691443 crank w/o tone rings, etc.) ----head: PP10490 (3686661 exhaust valves, 3685996 intake valves ) ----injectors: PP10425 x15 big-tier (X15 CM2350 X116B - Performance Series. 565hp). ----overhead cam: 3690406 ----pistons: 3691713 ----connecting Rods: 3689108 ----Block: BB1950-assy. There are also 2 different 450VGT series turbos as well. They both look identical from the outside but one has slightly bigger inner housing ... One (34 mm) is for better fuel economy but cannot take as much heat, spools up slightly faster. The other (36 mm) is for heavy haul operations, has a titanium turbine, and is designed to take more heat... but is less fuel efficient by about 0.6 - 0.75 mpg.
