RE: Possibly my first rebuild/need 2nd opinion.
Thank you for the response, you are way more knowledgeable than myself, maybe I am confused. I pressure tested my system according to this link.

https://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?...21#pid8321

There was a better write up thread someone had asked specifically how to do this check somewhere, I can no longer find. I thought we were supposed to block off intake inlet and turbo outlet to pressurize the entire engine including rings? I don't think rings were meant to hold pressure forever. However, our Pete rate of pressure loss is much slower than the KW.

I had read about the compressor leak thru on another thread, forgot to mention I plugged that first when air was found leaking bad out of the crankcase. Also read another thread about the turbo leaking into crankcase. Removed turbo drain line and plugged that too, no change. If I loosen rocker arms to check valve seats and those pass is there a good way to test piston rings/liner wear? Also forgot to mention fan is on in the correct orientation.

Edited to say that my ones and zeros have been graciously reviewed. It is out of date, many bug fixes ago, as well as we are now a member of the "Bad Juju" club. Mostly all fault blocking logic, no turbo, injection, or air fuel remapping; no operating mode control adjustments. One statement said that it would "lead to shortened engine life due to excessive cylinder-wall friction." I think that is what I am chasing here and leading to my issues. Truck was worked on at least 200-300 thousand miles, and probably 4-5 years ago. I may try cleaning it up and see what that does to my overheating problem first. Thank you for taking the time to review my garbage!

This work was done in a high-volume shop, we also have another truck that is worse off than this one. Shop Owner was bragging about how much power the Peterbilt will make and how he could make it more with the "bigger fuel pump" even though the triple cyl pump has two plungers just like the other if I remember right, snake oil. I can't imagine what torture he would have done to "crank it up" even more, as the injection timing and fuel on time are off the charts with engine destructo power. I bet he has a lot of other trucks in the area destroying themselves...

!!!IF YOU HAVE HAD YOUR TRUCK WORKED ON IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA YOU NEED TO HAVE IT REVIEWED!!!
