RE: A/C hose lines (Today )3406E Wrote: I ended up getting them at the dealership. Only $850 for 3 hose. Been there, done that. I know the shock of the price for "just a hose connection". That's right in line with my experience buying 3 AC lines from PACCAR. But, and this goes for most heavy duty truck parts, stop and think about what you really got for that cost. Assuming those hoses were original then they lasted over 20 years of use, vibration, and heat and hundreds of thousands of miles of distance traveled. I don't know the mileage on your truck but for years that breaks down to an average of about $14 per hose per year of service. Do the math on the mileage and it'll probably seem completely insignificant. Also, the largely vehicle specific routing and low volume of parts demand means that these lines are more or less custom made in small batches and anything custom will cost more, regardless of who does it.
