For me, I have never seen the fluctuations in price per mile and availability of freight before. I know the market changes, but it seems very drastic anymore. Come to Dallas with dry van and if you are hauling broker freight you will haul cheap freight, or you will sit, or do some serious dead heading. Flat bed is SLOWWWWWW right now, not a lot moving. Whats it like for you guys?

Well I haul around FL local a lot then up to GA. I can run local around FL about 450 a trip going about 130 miles home every night about 75.00 and fuel I try to do at least 2 trips a day, but If run a load up to GA I average 550 to 650 one way up and then back to FL about 1300 to 1500 coming back in to FL

RE: Cost/ Profit calculator
I try to pretty much stick to dumbbell system or Triangle system 500 miles radius from base, I also try to get retail rates and not wholesale rates and look at the market, I also don't pull heavy loads, you can pull LTL load for the same rate, as pulling TL. This just my opinion how I do.
