Especially if you are in Deer country. Buddy of mine hit one a few months ago, a little one, well over $10,000 in damage along with the down time.

Those Prostar bumpers and tire/fender guards are great because they are very easily repairable. If it is only cracked in several places and none of it has big chunks missing, you can easily weld it back up with a plastic welder kit and the correct rods... this welder: https://amzn.to/2E2DtgS and these rods: https://amzn.to/2VZNo0R and for spots/corners where high strength is needed, you can melt in a small piece of this stuff across the weld (or something similar): https://amzn.to/2E2DqSn Glues and other methods do not work, but proper welding makes it just as strong as a new one when done right, and it looks good too. I have done many of them with people that have come to visit. (I need to make a video on this some time I think). I think I might just try this.. small chunk missing from bottom but think I will bolt small piece of diamond plate there...and put the insurance money toward a bumper guard.

A fleet of more than 2,000 trucks said to me once that the average truck deer-strike ratio was one strike every 8 years (that caused major damage any ways) according to their data. I thought that was interesting. User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!.

RE: Prostar bumper that fleet of 2,000 trucks probably also had atleast 50-100 trucks in a bone yard to salvage parts off to i bet that "drivers" rolled/smashed up. kinda funny when i worked for crete running walmart outa North Platte, NE at first i was given a 13 Prostar with a MAXXFART loved the truck for some reason every one ive drove treated me good for around 300k total miles, but AC in bunk went out so they scrapped the truck in their boneyard with 50k on new brakes 5k on an oil change and a brand new alternator. truck had 380k miles. well my 1 year with them wasnt enough to get a new model cascadia sitten in the yard so they gave me the 2016 loner cascadia that was beat up inside but ok outside drove that truck till i left. but a guy who started with 10yrs prior experience gave him that new model with the new nose cascadia 2 weeks later it was flopped on its side in a ditch with 30k miles on it guy fell asleep at the wheel....yet im not qualified to get a new truck lol.
