| 2016 Lonestar Cummins ISX15 CM2350 Odd Situation What’s going on truckers hope you’re all doing well . I have a 2016 International Lonestar with an ISX15 CM2350. I bought it about four years ago, drove it about 2 and a half years before I quit trucking and decided to pursue diesel mechanics. Since I have tried to diagnose this truck on my own with not much success. It first began to throw injector and SCR codes which I used to clear with a SnapOn scanner before I was educated on diesel diagnostics (not a very good idea because I was clearing codes that were giving me very valuable information) I ran it that way for about 6 months before it finally threw a stop engine code but since all the DTC’s were cleared it was just a stop engine and SCR Operator Inducement code. ... just recently performed and ECM recalibration which revealed a list of codes: - 249: Ambient Air Temp Sensor 1 Circuit: Voltage High/ Short to High - 1241: Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 Circuit: Voltage Low/ Short to Low - 1845: Water-In-Fuel Indicator Sensor Circuit: Voltage High/ Short to High - 2398: Ambient Air Temp: Data Erratic/ Intermittent/ Incorrect - 3567: Aftertreatment DEF Dosing Valve Circuit: Current Below Normal/ Open - 4572: DEF Tank Temperature: Abnormal Update Rate - 4677: DEF Tank Level: Abnormal Update Rate - 6656: SCR Monitoring System Malfunction “Special Instructions/ Condition Exists” Though I understand what all these codes mean I’m not quite sure how to diagnose such a daunting electrical system issue which it seems to me electrical in this case is the system most obviously effected. Truck has been sitting for almost a year if not a bit more, would like to get it back up and running soon. (ECM is a reman unit bought and programmed just before I stopped trucking, CPC I think is good because it was communicating with Diamond Logic Builder, however intermittently the Dump Suspension light on the dash flashes, other than that there are no other obvious faults other than the ones listed above.) Any pointers or tips/ help would be greatly appreciated. | |||

| RE: 2016 Lonestar Cummins ISX15 CM2350 Odd Situation If you suspect wiring issue then go to quickserv.com, register the engine ser#, and go have a look at the ECM wiring diagram, see if there are any common voltage supplies, etc. going to those sensors. You have to also consider the wiring harness itself, such as a connector that is common to those senspors that might have moisture in it. Ambient air sensor and accelerator fault codes are not normal at all. They don't come up unless you have real issues... and are often seen when water/moisture gets into connectors/plug... typically after some idiot uses a power-washer under the hood to clean on and around the engine (this is very a bad thing to do to any vehicle engine compartment). - Many a trucker finds this out the hard way after going to a truck-wash and not telling the idiots 'NOT' to clean the engine areas. The 3567, 4572, and 4677 are associated with a J1939 communications issue on the harness going down behind the engine and to the aftertreatment systems. - Same thing, likely moisture or corrosion in a harness plug, or maybe where the wiring has started rubbing thru in some place as it snakes thru the frame back behind the engine.
