If your de-mandate is NOT proper MM-style tuning, then I feel sorry for your engine. There are so many bad deletes out there for CM871 it is not funny.

A mid-range CM871 engine can be set to upwards of 800HP without any hardware changes with proper custom tuning fairly easily. On the other hand, any engine that you make work harder will wear out quicker and be prone to more trouble. The harder you work any kind of mechanical device, the shorter its life will be. I never recommend putting more than about 575 in one if you want it to live 1 million+. As well,.. you should consider the fact that a Prostar just does not have the CAC and cooling to properly handle much above about 550-HP any ways. they aren't made for high power applications, and even the frame is thin on them and will have issues with flex and twist much above that too.

My personal take on it is that anyone that wants much more than that in a prostar either has the wrong equipment for the job they do, or is only doing so to satisfy their own ego above actually making money.

80,000 gross is NOT heavy haul at all. I haul that around all day long with 450HP in my prostar, out west, through the big mountains, and everywhere else too. I have no problems whatsoever. My priorities are in actually making money I can keep instead of wasting it on a truck that has beed turned up high and does nothing but make some's ding dong harder because it can go up a hill a bit faster.
