bad de-mandated programming Hello I recently started having issues with my mandated truck. Filters were full truck would go into regen every two to three hours and my local shop suggested it would be easier and more cost effective to just de-mandate it. I joined the forum because it seems like everyone who’s gone this route has had issues including myself. First trip after work was finished tubo started surging kind of like pulsing sound at idle I hooked up Cummins insite and I see turbo actuator command jumping to 90,80,70,50 percent it’s all over the place. As I’m driving 65mph on cruise control turbo actuator is comanded to 90 percent and truck bogs down really bad blows smoke out the tailpipe. I’m lost, local shops wants to replace vgt and I said no. I need help. The work they did was hollow and emptied filters and I saw several sensors unplugged egr was not blocked off. Then I guess ecm programmed and That’s all. I’m not sure what’s missing what’s right and what’s wrong. I need help. Thank you. | |||

I need help. Like you already stated... Assume that the programming is not right. I review more then 1,000+ programs a year for people and more than 90% of them are complete garbage plus harmful to the engine. And the turbo trying to make boost at idle, and those high positions is a bad sign. Its usually the ECM not re-programmed properly (no operating control re-mapping), and still trying to make extra friction and heat to try to warm up a DPF can that is no longer in place.
