ECM maintenance
With being a salt belt truck is once a year check and clean the ecm harness connections, and any other ones found a proper schedule. I've heard of people sinking $$$$$$ into a problem and it was just a bad or dirty ecm connection.

That's why a good mechanic checks wiring and connections before they blame sensors and ECMs

RE: ECM maintenance
Seems to be a shortage of "good" mechanics at dealers and else where.

That is a serious understatement. If you want some longevity and reliability any more,.. you need to grab a wrench and just knuckle down and do things yourself.

It is sad to see that the OEM and stealerships are so bad these days. No professional support much out of any of them, but instead very costly triage-mentality mechanics hell bent on selling you the most expensive fix they can come up with.
