I have a 2017 2350. Would it have steel or ceramic? I'm starting to think I should rebuild it yearly, Cheap insurance.

Cummins started put steel plungers sometime in 2013. You dont have to worry. Just replace them every 400,000miles.

can anyone tell me how much would i cost to have a shop rebuild the pump.never done anything like that before in dont really have anyone close by that could help me out that work on trucks..i would like to beable to learn how to do it all but with ADHD sometime thing are a bit harder for me to do but i do all the work i can by my self

yes you can rebuild the 3 cylinder pump, but i would advise against it. most of the pump failures i see are with the old 3 cylinder pumps updated or not. just update to the 2 cylinder pump and put the new guts in it. the whole rebuild kit is about 800 Canadian to redo the guts and takes about an hour labor.

dont leave 3 cylinder pumps on engines they are bombs!

The only thing I need are the fuel lines now. does anybody have the part numbers for them? Also, is there any special brackets that I need? any info would be appreciated As quickserve doesn’t show the two cylinder pump for me.

Already did that and comes up showing the three cylinder pump and accesories. Ill head over to the dealer in the morning and see what they have to offer.

For my 2250 build 2012 it shows 2 cyl pump with all associated brackets and pipes.

sounds like this fuel pump issue is a real nightmare. And that its not guaranteed to work even if you do change it every 400k. What are people doing about that? if the engine is destroyed can it be rebuilt?
