$503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! Hey, need a transmission cooler for the 08 ProStar with ISX. Cannot find an aftermarket, and dealer wants $503! This same unit for say a car or pickup is around $80-$120. Any suggestions? How about installing a Universal cooler? Any of you have experience with that and mounting? Or other less costly alternatives? I have yet to take the old one out, but from photos and such, it looks like any other trans cooler on the market other than the bracket. Or, I guess I could have it recored, but God knows how long that will take. Thanks guys!

RE: $503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! With some minor modifications I think a standard universal cooler should work. Eaton specs say it needs to be able to flow 8 GPM if I remember right. So long as you can mount the cooler in the air flow you should be fine. I don't like where they put it from the factory. Seems half the cooler is useless as it's hidden behind the darn grill supports. For around $200 I could put in a remote cooler with a temperature controlled cooling fan. Could mount it up front and if the trans exceeded 180 degrees the fan kicks in.

RE: $503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! Where would you mount that cooler with the fan? And I did find a shop in Detroit that can recore the unit for around a $100... Probably going that route, as i have to get back to work. One day turnaround... But still curious as to where you would mount. And do you have a link to the unit you are speaking of? Oh, and the line fittings, those are fairly universal aren't they? The push in with the clips. Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Derale-13960-Hype...B004XONSBC

RE: $503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! The cooler I speak of is here https://www.carid.com/derale-performance...76437.html Not sure where I would mount it though. Same thing as that Amazon link but cheaper lol.

RE: $503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! B&M supercooler is a good option too. They work well...I'm working on piecing one together for mine with JIC fittings and a remote oil filter and thermostat. User's Signature: 2010 T2000, CM871, 13spd, 977k, tanker yanker Overhauled @ 927k

RE: $503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! Question, I have the cooler out, HOW THE HELL DO YOU REMOVE THE LINES? LOL! I called the dealer and they said they just pull apart? Well, HOW? Is there a certain way to do this? Push in and turn? Pull and turn? I'm at a loss. HELP! I need to get back to work. I pulled the rubber back on the line, and there looks to be a wire wrapped around the Hose Fitting. Not a clip, just a solid wire. Line disconnect tool looks to be needed...

RE: $503.00 for a Transmission Cooler! WTF! It looks like you pull back on that sleeve, push the hose in slightly, then pull it back and off. User's Signature: 2010 T2000, CM871, 13spd, 977k, tanker yanker Overhauled @ 927k
