RE: C13
whats the need for a cat? what type of truck are we talking doing what kind of work? if the truck chosen is going to be for hauling freight i dont think any of them would be worth having.

RE: C13
2007 shouldn't have a 3406 engine unless someone put it in.
Would figure 2007 truck would have a C15 Acert engine without a DPF.

What year is the C15? Ones with DPF will bankrupt you trying to keep them going. C15 without DPF is a good engine. Even the twin turbo with the IVA are good engines. May have to replace the iva actuator or the wiring harness going to them but other than that good solid engines.

In a 2007 !

The Freightliner trucks are like 2002 or ,2003 models.
The C15 engines are in 2006 peterbilt trucks that I was referring to.

RE: C13
Are these dump trucks or day cabs? A C12 is a weak engine but was ok in like a dump truck ... If a day cab will have to be geared low to pull ok... The bigger cat maybe like a c15 a 3406 would be in like a really older truck.. Give us more details on what they are and what you are planning on doing with them.. Makes a world of difference when used in the right application..

2004 KW- 430hp C12 day cab with a 220 wheelbase (didn’t have tape measure buddy feet used) 3.55/3.70 rears

2007 KW T800 3406 (guy that posted probably not sure he’s a sales not a truck guy) had 7 of these trucks 2or 3 already sold!

RE: C13
Ok so the C12 if 3.70 will get the job done just will take its time....
the 2007 cat should be a twin turbo acert C15 their a great engine when working correctly... But they have had many issues with IVA's but all in all a good engine....

those are tall rears for daycabs and only 12-litre engines in them.. should be 4.11's

I believe the old Freightliner trucks at work were 4.11. I know 65mph was turning about 1650rpm in them. But those cats liked it.
