Best bet is to make the drive bud.

That's what I was thinking. Guess I get to take an extra vacation soon.

6 hours is nothing when you know your getting quality service. I'm about 18 hours away and I'd still make that trip if it's something too big to handle on my own.

I don't mind the drive itself. Truck is a daycab with a regular tag so it takes a little more planning to get there. Not that it's a good excuse not to go. Definitely want to make the trip from everything I've read in my short time on here.

Local freightliner is the only one to get back to me so far. This seems excessive even for a stealership. Granted the bearings would be covered if they are indeed bad but still. I don't normally use them for service, just looking around for cost ideas

$960 for a valve adjustment? I mean, unless it takes 6 hours to get the valve cover off...

:0 that’s crazy. Even the dealerships around here have a flat rate of 400-500 on a valve adjustment on any engine. Their labor rate must be 260$….. I think book hours is only 4 hours don’t hold me to that though

What a complete ripp-off, including the parts prices that seem to be 2x higher than normal. .. and you will be having to go behind them and do it all over again yourself any ways to boot. -= Stealers$its are the WORST, most incompetent places to have anything done.

RE: Oil sample not looking good.
I have no idea what their hourly rate is. Local Cummins shop is $195. They haven't gotten back to me.

The scarier part is the service advisor said they aren't all that familiar with the Cummins and told me to call the local International shop. They were little help as well. Think I'll call Hagg, make the drive and have some other work done while it's there. If I can get my other truck back operational then it won't be such a big deal.

Over filling my plate right now. Trying to get this ISX caught up, trying to get my other truck up and running again and trying to get my own insurance/authority setup all at once. The latter two may have to get put on hold a little longer again.
