Moly is up for great debate in the oil world. In grease it has very good protection properties and in engine oil it has always been viewed to be the same but as of late, engine oil companies have begun to question it's relevance. In fact, it has been shown that too much moly can accelerate wear. These companies need to find the right blend to get the benifits. Some have opted to just remove it all together.

Moly is like zinc. Great to have but can actually hurt your engine if you have too much.
