I would recommend having someone who is familiar with them do the job. You can do a lot of damage to your engine if a mistake is made and things can be much much worse. I also hear it is very easy to mis-align components and then you are looking at big issues.
Does anyone know the kit # for the updated plungers off hand?

What else is needed? Fuel pump head gasket???

I'm guessing it doesn't take much for tools to do this job?

Maybe Mr. Hag or someone else can post the part numbers and some details?. I have not done this myself, as i do not own a truck with that fuel system.
Here's the part numbers. 4327258 barrel and plungers, 2872226 tappets need 2 of each...$238 with shipping and handling from bigrigworld.com they sell discount cummins parts.

That's kind of what I was thinking. According to the cummins quickserve, it doesn't look too complicated. Guess I'll find out, because I'm driving myself nuts worrying about these ceramic plungers and whatnot
Ur going to need a new fuel pump head gasket as well. Don't know the part number but you can look on quikserve.
Just checked mine . Fuel line banjo seals needed : two 3963990 and two 3963988 . they were like 3 bucks a piece it wasn't real clear which ones you needed when looking at it on quickserve. Also the instructions has you remove the actuator from the side of the head to blow shop air in a port to push the plungers out . I didn't have to remove it because mine were extended. The instructions have you quickly push them in and check that the plungers bounce back to verify proper operation. Note if you slowly push them in they will not return then you might have to remove the actuator to blow them back out . So it might be a good idea to look up that actuator gasket part no. while getting the head gasket. You need a good quality 12 point 10 mm socket. Torque valve on those head bolts was like 60 lbs. Not a job for 1/4 drive!
Ok so if you have the 3 cyl fuel pump is it rebuild able ? 2250 2012 ptrb 485 isx
also 2014 and 2015 isx trying to keep big red happy

Have a CM2350 in my 2014 KW T660. As described earlier in this thread, the truck was assembled in 2013 and the engine had this bad fuel pump.

At the start of DPF/Regen issues on new years eve, before finding this site, the truck went into a big name KW dealer shop in Atlanta after it tried to regen for 6 hrs.

The shop screwed up some other stuff but they did check campaign items on the Engine Serial Number and replaced the defective fuel pump under warranty. The campaign you may want to ask about is C1794.

Im looking into other makes of trucks to see if the same campaign number applies across the board.
