My fuel/power steering cooler let go, I bypassed it for now had Kenworth order me one, is that gonna hurt anything for a few days ? Thoughts? Thanks
That cooler is there for a reason, but I'm not a mechanic... If it were me, I would park the truck until fixed.
is the cooler just for your power steering?
if its just for your ps. then as long as your not turning alot in a parking lot.dock, what not you should be ok but i would not do it for long . but the fuel/ps. cooler i've never seen them tied together, but i don't get out much.
It was actually only pissing out fuel Stevesparts but when I called Kenworth he told me it was a fuel/p/s cooler. Quickly informed me it's 700 $! Lol
I would buy the needed part and install myself.
You bet Stevesparts I bypassed it for now & have it on order just never heard of a fuel ps cooler before Thanks
When I swapped motors I "found" A cooler for fuel in front of the radiator. Always thought it was for the transmission, never had a reason to chase the lines down.

Anyways, I learned KW puts a cooler for fuel whenever there is a single tank spec.

If this is your situation, if the fuel is kept full to help make a bigger heat collector, I think you'll be ok for awhile.

As far as a cooler, I'm sure you could find a nice trans cooler to adapt for a lot less than $700.

Good luck!
Thank you Redbeard, I should be ok then yes it is on a W9 I hold 100 gals on 1 side & 120 slplit w hydraulic on other & fuel up every night & just do local dirt hauling, that's a good idea on a cooler to adapt.
My truck does not even have a Power-steering cooler OR a fuel cooler on it. Never did form new. Does not seem to hurt anything at all.
