Have a rebuilt CM2250 in a 2012 KW T660 that was in a rollover, engine is good would like to swap it and put in a 2008 Pete 389 that has a CM871, it’s pushing coolant into the overflow. Haven’t opened it up to see if head, Head gasket or a dropped liner. Wondering if I would need a different wiring harness to swap the CM2250 from the 2012 T660 KW into the 2008 Pete 389 any help would be appreciated
There's 2 harness plugs on each ECM 1 is the Cummins engine harness the other is the OEM harness with other sensors and inputs from your oems installation parts this will have to be reworked and ECM and body controller will need to be reprogrammed to accept each other's inputs/outputs. Might be 3 plugs on 2250 ECM in that case I have no idea. Be better off selling the 2250 and doing a correct overhaul on 871 which is more reliable in the end
Great thank you for the info

Unilevers

it will go fairly easily - just need a truck harness for the 2 OEM side plugs.

The 2250 does have 3 ECM plugs. 2 are Cummins, 1 is OEM. Probably needed more pins to accommodate all the extra SCR junk. The ECM on the 2250 is located on the bottom rear of the driver side above the starter.

My recommendation .... fix the 871... BUT fix it the right way. - Its a higher long term profit, more fuel efficient, more reliable engine all day long.

Sell the 2250 to offset the cost.
Thx for all the help guys appreciate it
