This is what happened to mine!!!
It really scares the crap out of ya especially when you don't expect it lol, mine only seems to do it when it is really hot like 80+ outside and whenever it feels like it also.

about 10'000 that's just the basics head,pistons,liners,bearings. no connecting rods no injectors no turbo. That doesn't include labor.
