I know of a guy in Nebraska that makes reliable 725hp DDEC 4 12.7 series 60 engines. And 2350 torque. He has guys drive them in his trucks. All OE parts. How high is he spinning them? I don't believe any 12+ liter Diesel engine will last long if it regularly sees 2k rpm. 3k rpm is on borrowed time. RE: Series 60 Trip report view - Unilevers - 12-12-2016 we did a ddec v 14l in a race truck that spun 2750 and was north of 850 to the wheels. i say north of 850 because it was a single axle that we couldnt stop from spinning on the dyno rollers. it was bone stock except for turbo and injectors, and has been throttled in racing for over a year now and is still running great. It never sees normal RPM's its held to the floor pretty much all the time its running. I'm not sure high high rpm but fought it's 3000 rpm that sounds like a sled pull engine being used in a working truck. I wish I had your buddys money. Or tell me where to apply. |
