RE: Lonestar CM871 MPG - Lonestar10 - 10-07-2018

Ive never saw my boost gauge go below the 10 mark unless i was coasting down hill. even doin 50-60 in cities just cruisin stayin away from traffic its always up with any amount of throttle. im just in the notion my 871 should do around the same or better than my dads 870 in a 07' T600 getting 5.5-6 doing the same work running the same speeds.

its a new truck to me ive been out for 8 days total so i dont know its sweet spots for mileage and i dont yet know its "im happy" sounds from its "crying" sounds.

im going accross I-90 in SDakota today heading to Gillette ill do some playing see what i can get out of it since ill be in no hurry as i deliver monday morning in Gillette yay snowstorm here i come!

i just hope you dont take it as im not listening iam!

Thanks!
Joe

The 1st step you need to take is stop that rookie mentality of I cant go slow because I'm to slow at things on the ground. Tarping, strapping, chaining, loading and unloading. GET BETTER AT THEM AND IN A HURRY. EVERY driver that took the time to think about it and had some experience will tell you flat out. You will never make any sizable time up by driving fast. Time is always made up by getting better and more efficient at the things stated above. Slow down driving. 60-63 mph is more than fast enough and 55mph is a good goal to strive for. There's far more money, a lot less stress, fewer repair times in driving you equipment slower and gentle.

Get better at planning your day to run smooth and cutting out wasteful things like BS'ing @ truckstops or sleeping 10 hrs when not necessary, waking up with your mouth in nuetral and you ass in gear. Hit the ground running at shippers and recievers. Take charge of getting people to load and unload. Get up earlier and get on site to load\unload 1st. Have your equipment pulled out and ready to throw around as soon as they're done loading.

I see more and more lazy truckers in flatbeding and I'll tell you now. I'll always get up earlier and outwork all of them because I believe trucking is a way to make a living not a way to live. The sooner I get the $$ I need doing it, the sooner I can get back to living my life. There are plenty of more successful guys than me and that's because they're even better at the things I've stated. If you think your not completing with me and 1000's of others your poorly wrong and you'll suffer the poor house in this business like the 10's of thousands that aren't staying motivated and learning and adapting to better ways of doing things. Im not shitting on you cause I'll definitely help where I can for a few reasons. I like to teach things, someone else taught me, i like and need competition to keep me at my best and we all grow when we grow together.

Again, slow down driving, become more efficient at the ground things, let up on the fuel peddle which requires you to drop gears and use higher rpm's which is less stress on all of your equipment, look into Rawze hypermiler and driving OOG (out of gear) with safety always before OOG. These are good places to start in running a more efficient trucking business.

RE: Lonestar CM871 MPG - Nilao - 10-07-2018

Your filter is full. Pull it and the doc and have it cleaned abd flow tested

RE: Lonestar CM871 MPG - Rawze - 10-07-2018

Yes, it is high and plugged. Pull the, DOC and DPF and take pictures of them,.. post them here for some opinions, have them baked and flow tested. You should not average more than 3.0 down the for right column in the history report.

RE: Lonestar CM871 MPG - Nilao - 10-07-2018

He probably had my salesman who swore mine was a new dpf when all they really did was a reset.
Mine made it 3 days before i started getting the faceplug code. I cleaned it with compressed air and tapping the outside of the filter and got a mound of ash that would fill a gallon jug. I decided to just MM it and be done.

RE: Lonestar CM871 MPG - Lonestar10 - 10-07-2018

supposedly the dpf was done at same time as overhaul 150k ago.. and i probably wont spend the money to fix something thats going to break again.
