Looks just like someone's exaggerations meant to do nothing but mis-inform others through ignorance. Something you would see on one of those social medai garbage-can websites.
That amount of wear would have (or have not) happened, a few shims or not... excess idling with lower than normal pressure is what that looks like to me.
