Winblows10 would be the better choice I think. Especially if the laptop already came with that version. I use win10 (the basic home edition) on my own machine with regards to helping people with all this red engine stuffs.
As far as what version if Insite.. Depends on if your using it for newer engines (newer than the CM2350-X101's, up to about 2017 model engines) or not very much.
