Purge valve keep going off - 3406E - 07-03-2026

Truck 05 9900 eagle isx. Purge valve keeps going off. Builds to its normal pressure 120 and then starts to purge.Sometimes every two minutes, sometimes 6 minutes. Changed to a brand new dealer bendix dryer and still have to drain about a half cup of water in mornings. I’ve been checking for leeks but cannot find any. The purge valve doesn’t go off often when idling only when driving. To add sometimes I go to drain the air tanks and there is no water coming out as it should, but after few days it’s starts again.
Any suggestions?

Is the governor part of the dryer or located separately? It sounds like a bad governor.

The governor is on the compressor . Bought a brand new bendix one, Have it for about two weeks in the truck but didn’t want to mess with it until I get home. Now I’m home for the holiday weekend decided to change it this morning and the Damn threaded end broke in the old governor. The quick connect was old and stuck didn’t want to release. Decided to pull the connected end and it broke. I have an assortment of 90’ quick fittings but the size I want is not in there. Ofcourse everywhere is closed today so that’s now a Monday job. 15 minutes job turns into a whole weekend lol.
That’s why I avoid messing with things on the truck if I don’t have to when over the road or under a load.

Man, it seems any 20-30min job is just one broken bolt from a 2-3 day nightmare lol
