Governor Type - Lonestar10 - 12-02-2018 Can anyone explain the differences between the 2 governor types in features/parameters I have Automotive And Variable Speed my truck was Automotive but i set to Variable speed to see if there's any change this week to how the engine acts. ive tried some searching and only found a saying in truckers report that variable speed is like driving a mechanical cat..as ive only driven a 3406E i dont really know the difference except in the golden days of yesteryear a mechanical engine would just throw more fuel the more you pushed the pedal compared to computer control thanks for any input! RE: Governor Type - Nilao - 12-03-2018 Automotive varies the torque depending on throttle position...50% tps=50% torque. Variable speed means that at 50% tps=50% governed rpm and it will apply 100% torque to keep it there or get it to that rpm. RE: Governor Type - Lonestar10 - 12-03-2018 ic i did notice in my lower 4 gears my but o meter thought i could actualy move instead of feeling like im pulling a steel brick with no wheels behind me. |
