My only saving grace is that I pull light loads, anything over 20,000 pounds and I am in a world of hurt trying to keep the rpm's up so as not to lug the motor. The truck you found sounds pretty good, I would consider it if the motor and emissions checks out, but I would have the shop you are buying it from install some 3:55 or better yet in your case, some 3:70 gears if you are going to be in the mountains the majority of the time. Then I would take it to Mr Hagg and fix it for good.

I really appreciate all the tips and info. Looking FW to getting it to Mr. Hagg and making it as bulletproof as humanly possible. Can I find him on this forum?

Mr Hagg pops in now and then, he is pretty busy... Best to call the shop and make an appointment. Rawze is right down the street, so may get the chance to meet him too...

RE: 2014 Pete 386 - Casper - 09-25-2019

Took a look at the 386, after driving and looking it over, it threw up a fault code 3216. Shop replaced the NOx sensor, did a re-gen and code disappeared. They replaced a couple of tires (my request...they had a flat spot, causing a little vibration)....drove it again, purchased it and left...drove several hours, parked the truck for the night. Cranked this morning, drove a couple of hours and the fault code popped up again....after reading through all the forums here, I'm guessing it's another bad sensor OR..it wasn't installed properly....working on that right now! Any input??
