Do you have a picture of the turbo and actuator? Hard to believe that they sh!t the bed at the same time. Sounds like the mechanic is doing the all pure remedy of replacing the parts with out diagnosing why the problem happened in the first place.

Like Rawze himself stated earlier in this thread the first thing is you need to fix that program in your ECM which means getting adapter/insite and or flashing it back to stock. Otherwise you are just running in circles.

Turbo and actuator both .. at same time ... sounds awefully suspicious like they are just going to throw some expensive parts at it to me.

My advice would be that you watch, carefully, that turbo inspection video I made and go down there and make them prove they are bad before dropping a few thousand bucks blindly.

-- I guess the concept of doing the job yourself has never crossed your mind? -- Must be nice to have so much money lying around that you can give it away like that.

If this shop is really good, they will install a new EGR Cooler too... ;-)

he said that something was broken in the turbo and that is not moving freely. I found the paperwork last time we replaced the turbo was 550k, now the truck have 1milion miles so i guess it was time for new one which sucks

If that is the case, I would have him call YTS Turbo down in Griffin GA... It will be much better quality than what Cummins will sell him and more than likely at half the price.

Yes i just came back from the shop and the actuator was taken apart, the mechanism on the turbo barely was moving wasn’t even going half way to the dot. I got the turbo and actuator from a shop from chicago for $3300 plus $700 core. Better then cummings $9000.
