Still nothing. I spoke with someone at a local peterbilt dealer and they said that because the engine is a 2024 it's probably looking for a vecu and not thr cecu that is on this year truck. They advertise to use source address 39. But that didn't work either. RE: Jake switch settings in Esa - windowrattler - 10-30-2024 Isn't around 16-17 when they started using some 500k baud comms in some of the paccars? A black 9 pin is all 250k and a green 9 pin has 500k. Also if it was a vecu truck you can't use ESA at all you have to use Davie. I did just pull the file with calterm RE: Jake switch settings in Esa - mp7 - 10-30-2024 [attachment=9635][attachment=9636][attachment=9637] here is what I have at the moment set at RE: Jake switch settings in Esa - Rawze - 10-30-2024 (10-30-2024 )mp7 Wrote:(10-30-2024 )Rawze Wrote: - What should have happened is that the original CM2350 ecm and wiring harness be re-used on the new long block instead of trying to wire up the whole ecm, etc. Then a custom program made to run that newer hardware on the older model ecm. its not that the newer ecm is incompatible.. it is simply just FAR FAR easier to use the older ecm that already works 100% correctly with the rest of the vehicle, and simply reprogram it with new compression ratio and other engine specific things, ... THAN IT IS TO FIGHT THRU ALL THE SECONDARY PROBLEMS THAT YOU ARE NOW FACING!. RE: Jake switch settings in Esa - mp7 - 10-30-2024 (10-30-2024 )Rawze Wrote: ... That makes sense. I still have the old ecm and harness what else would have to be swapped if we went that direction? I thought the turbo and possibly egr ? Not using egr but not sure if it has to be installed. RE: Jake switch settings in Esa - Btech - 10-30-2024 I was just looking at the wiring for both ECM's and OEM side datalink wiring is identical pinout between the 2, there is a 250k line and a 500k line on both so what ever the 2016 truck used before is what it would still be using so long as the ECM to cab harness wasn't changed. so that should be fine. Does the tach, and other engine gauges on the dash work? If they do then communication between CECU and ECM is working. Are there any messages/errors in insite under advanced ECM data / J1939 multiplexing? This could be very helpfull if it did catch something there. Does the ECM show switch status for any of the problem switches in the data monitor? All the settings you posted look correct, other than the source addresses, and it still puzzles me why there isn't a parking brake switch setting under the multiplexing options. the CM2450 I have a image of has it in there, same as all the CM2350's I have images of. Also to note, Source address 39 is for VECU, 49 is for CECU. Somewhere about 2020-2021 Kenworth/Peterbilt stopped using the CECU and went to the VECU. but for the cummins option it acts the same as the CECU did. Yes, when someone re-uses the old ecm and wiring harness from CM2350 to a CM2450 engine, the turbo off the older engine needs to be put on, and that is about it. - it sounds to me like your far enough along at this point though to try to make what you got work like it is if you can.
