Yes the counterbores in the cummins have to be checked a special way because they are a mid supported liner. I have only done one motor that didn't need the counterbores done.

yours and my idea of what needs to be cut and cummins idea of what needs to be cut are 2 very different things. this is why oem's have so many issues.

Just like cat has now stated that 6thou is what cat wants. Cummins will be next.

cat always said 1-6 thou was spec, always boggled my mind how they expected a engine at 1though to hold a gasket.... many SDP's came out from the factory just like that.

see the new cat avation glue they are using on their heads/gaskets? kinda funny.
