Should've clarified my original post to include the productivity series as well.

RE: X15 questions
According to a lead engineer on a certain YouTube video talking about both x15 epa17 engine’s, the efficiency series has higher compression to optimize fuel economy, ( I believe it’s around 19.7 to 1) where as the performance series is slightly lower at around 19 to 1, according to him, when your trying to get more power out of the engine, a lower compression is better for reliability and durability

The higher output ratings from 565-605 hp use higher-capacity components from the X15 Performance Series ratings. This dual engineering strategy ensures that the X15 Productivity Series has the output required to meet power demands while optimizing fuel economy and operating costs. The rpm levels are set to match the job requirements of specific applications. Cummins continues to offer both Rear Engine Power Takeoff (REPTO) and Front Engine Power Takeoff (FEPTO) on X15 Productivity Series engines. Per Cummins

thanks for pointing me towards the right direction. I updated my post to include all 3 types. -- Rawze = stuck foot in mouth. The performance series does in fact have a slightly shorter, heavier crank and block used in the actual performance engine.

Seems a lot of it is kind of misleading, as there are 600hp+, 2050 engines in both the performance and productivity series, yet there is 2 different blocks and crank specs.
