Hub oil lube question
At what millage or time frame, weeks, month's or years do you change out your front steer axle and trailer hub oil?

Usually do mine about every two years, not sure on otr guys, as I only run 50k mikes/year

every 250k miles.
Maybe you should read thru this official truck maintenance schedule and take some pointers on how to keep your truck healthy. Its for a Prostar, but most of it would apply to any truck...

Doing OTR, you should be checking your hub oil levels and condition every chance you get, visually and with a temp gun to spot potential bearing issues, especially with grease-packed hubs. Assuming you're removing the hubcaps it definitely won't hurt to check bearing end-play too and/or torque spec for the hubs equipped with the cone spacer, and reset the preload per manufacturer specs if the bearings aren't chewed up. Especially if you're seeing irregular tire wear.

If you check or replace axle oil every 40k it is still possible to save axle by just replacing bearings compared to when there is full carnage.

Quality oil should be used in axles. Cheap crap oil equals yearly axle overhauls/replacements.
