That looks like an oil starvation issue to me. - Make sure the oil line feeding the turbo is not kinked or has collapsed internally... make sure the oil pressures in the engine are not lower than they should be.

Of course, I don’t want to hear that. My pressure is good on the gauge. I have a new line which I’m going to install and I’ll have a chance to take a better look at the old one.
I’ve heard of them getting restricted when they get hot.

Edit: The line was perfect, but put the new one on anyway.

My turbo did not have this metal piece. I don’t know if this turbo is a different model than mine. But I wonder if it may have something to do with oil retention in the bearing area. And if it was left out by mistake, isn’t required for mine, or not considered necessary.
It can be seen in the disassembly video.
