| A/c pressures So my service manual was mostly worthless on this subject. 400+ pages, but does not say anywhere what my truck takes in refrigerant, or the proper pressures. It did say to use 8 oz. of oil at least. I recently resealed the system and replaced the dryer, compressor and condenser, and while it seems to be working fine, this heat wave has been testing it...and it only works marginal when temps approach 100. I want to make sure its running right. How do you guys think I should approach this? User's Signature: 2010 T2000, CM871, 13spd, 1.173m, tanker yanker Overhauled @ 927k | |||

| RE: A/c pressures A quick call to the dealership with the last 6 or 8 of the VIN. They should be able to tell you easily and specifically how much goes in your truck. | |||

| RE: A/c pressures In case you’re reading this today like I am, maybe this will help. In my experience, most trucks take 36-48 oz. of freon. The gauge reading should be 30-40 on the low (blue) side and double the outside temp on the high (red) side. Air out of the vents should be 38-42 degrees if all else is good. Good luck. | |||

Some A/C compressor pump replacements have the necessary 8-oz of oil already in them,..It may be on a tag, or someone could contact the compressor supplier,.etc. .. but one never knows for sure. If unsure, someone can pull the shipping caps off the compressor when they get it, rotate it by hand and drain any oil inside it / measure it. ... then pour it back in while rotating the compressor, + burping it, etc. User's Signature: ->: What I post is just my own thoughts and Opinions! --- I AM Full Of S__T!. | |||
