Just my opinion. 3:42’s with a 10 spd will be gutless. 3:55’s with a 10 my be ok if you haul light most of the time. 3:70’s with a 10spd will let you cruise at 60-61mph at about 1450 rpm. That’s pretty good until you go over 80K, then the 3:90’s would be a lot better.

3:70’s and an 18spd....would be perfect!!! Just my $.02.

What should the rpms look like at 65mph with a 10 speed 3.42 and 22.5 tires?

I have a 2013 Volvo 670 with a 10 speed overdrive transmission, 3.42 rear end gears, and 22.5 size tires. At 65 mph, my rpms are at 1400.

Looks like I’m going to stick to a 13-18 speed with 3.70-3.90.All I ever drive were 18 speeds.

The only difference between a 13 and an 18 is the low end gears. Most guys don't need the extra low end gears that an 18 offers over a 13. Just mentioning this as a reference for those who may not know, or have never thought about it.
