CM2250/CM2350 Fuel Pump

I spent right at $1600 for the head assembly when I went through my repair back when I started this thread

the Guts off my fuel pump was not my issues but one side of the head was . one plunger would not return like it calls for in the manual. as I would press it down and release it would not fully return back to the proper place and every time I pushed it down it ended up getting shorter and shorter meaning that a check valve for that plunger was not working correctly and as i could have got the parts one by one and changed them out in my situation it was not a option

I did attempt to loosen the torx nut for the check valve and yea that was not coming out and broke my bit and it wasn't a cheap tool so my opinion on that if one is doing these repairs and can afford I would only replace the head assembly

unless you have the time and place with a vice and other necessary tools to be able to do it right .

Ive never seen/heard about this fuel pump issue in Australia.. pretty sure we never got the ceramic plungers for a start but havent blokes still had dramas with the upgraded ones?

yes, the upgraded pumps are just as bad. Only difference is that they last a few more days before destroying the entire engine.

Still scratching my head as to why its an issue over there yet it isnt here. You lot would out number us probably 100-1 on how many of these engines are getting around but still... Can only hope people here are aware that the day that pump fails, it wont be a straight forward fix.

Just because you have not seen it, does not mean the problem does not exist. - It very well does, and is nothing to play around with!.

Trust me, ive being paying attention to this problem on here for a very long time and dont doubt it.. thought that throwing the observation out there might've lead to somebody on this end telling me otherwise.

Pretty much been my only suspicion this whole time. Didnt know other common rail systems were having the same issue though. They have been around a long time

I’m not real familiar with these pumps but ours is oil lubed correct. So it wouldn’t matter about thin fuel cause that’s not what’s lubing it correct?
