I see another victim of marketing and horse-sh$it advertising ... you have been duped by the system, and if you don't start looking past that salesman's shiny penny with his alligator smile that will cost you a dollar, then there is no hope for you my friend...

For those who would disagree ... Stop drinking the coolaide ... open your eyes to a better way of thinking.

here is your answer and why most of the people on this forum know better already...

(re-quoted...)
Be real careful about CAC units that are not OEM spec. they can cost you big time in fuel mileage and engine efficiency.

You should read this post carefully...

and there are about a dozen others that have had issues on here with them.

(re-quote)..
The key is to count the number of passageways and their size. That seems to be the downfall of duraquit anyways. On my prostar, the durasmite has 12, but the OEM has 18. - That works out to only about 66% of the flow capacity of the OEM, and i have seen several trucks with intake boots collapsing when you get on the throttle because they are so restrictive.

They all brag about their welds like a bunch of morons, but that is not the problem with CAC units, and never really has been. It is the mounting and torsional loads placed on them by way of worn out mounting bushings, mis-aligned mounting holes, and not enough give to the front structure frame work. That is what makes them fail, and not so much simply bad welds. ALL of that can be corrected when installing a new one if someone just takes the time to make sure all radiator mounting bushings and CAC bushings are in good shape, they all have some give to them and are not binding, and that any screw holes in the framework that don't align well get ground out so that they do.

-- I have seen so many trucks suffer the fate of aftermarket CAC units, and those 'tougher' EGR cooler units that it is not even slightly funny. - i Don't allow feeding that beast of marketed garbage, not on this forum.

RE: Charge air cooler
I remember specifically a well known “ truck expert” advocating for the above mentioned brand. Guess he’s just on the dole also! Thanks for steering me straight. As in my title “farmer70” my combine had no power. I pulled the CAC to clean it, the Deere mechanics said to bring it in to pressure test. Sure enough it was leaking. Made a huge difference in my combine’s power. That was my first experience with a CAC every diesel I had before that used a water jacket intercooler. Thanks for straight talk no B.S. we need more of it.

If your referring to that guy on the Xmradio with the truckers channel.. then he is only going to say whatever makes his paycheck.. i have seen more bad products pushed on that radio station buy that guy than anywhere else combined.
