I have another question I hope you don't find it to be a dumb one, On the fuel and water seperator FS1000 I know that I have to fill it up, but once i get on the truck do open the knob at the bottom and then re close or do have to open the knob twice and close and I know the knob at be closed at all time

I don't own that system. I have davco instead. I would think the knob at the bottom is only for draining water from it like on my davco. If that is the case,.. opening it does nothing for it other than draining water as it accumulates. If you just replaced it, why would it have water in it?

BTW: I drain the water from my davco every few days or so while I am checking my oil. - Especially in winter.
