RE: This true about isx heads?
I'm with Brock on this. I would replace the head with a new one if this is an EGR/DPF/SCR motor. How many stories on here have we read about these heads? Mine made it to around 600,000 when it started to fail. I nursed it another 100,000+ miles before it needed babysitting, then a year of feeding it coolant, then it eventually failed. A new head would have been cheap when all of the lost revenue and coolant was figured in.

And look at Cummins, they are using new heads and selling them as remans as the stock they get back as cores are junk. Honestly, if my motor was over that 500,000 mile mark and the head needed to be removed, I would replace it with a new one if I could swing it. These are not the motors I grew up with to say the least.
