RE: New ecm make sure you make a template (ecm back-up) with Insite (and with CT of you have it) of the old ecm so you don't loose all the addresses for the truck itself, like cruise control and engine brake switches, etc. if you have custom programming, you will also want to make an actual ecm program backup using CT. put the new ecm on and flash it with Insite, using factory program that is listed in quickserv for it. After, restore ecm image (truck settings). Insite will try to do this automatically during flash, but does not always succeed. Auto back-up restore during flash cannot be relied on. if you have custom programming, you need to let the truck run for 10 minutes on factory program before attempt of putting back any custom program.
