RE: Amsoil Bypass Filter
Not a bad option if your enigne tends to clog them up from soot, but its always better to do whatever it takes to lower engine soot levels instead of masking them. That way your DPF does not have to suffer excess soot problems.

If your de-mandating your truck, it will take likely 4 or 5 months to clog up only a single filter on a healthy engine. Dual filter,.. they would likely be rusted out before you change them.

Whatever case you go ..whatever you do ... don;t do extended oil changes with the ISX. Bypass filter is fine, but extending oil changes = engine cam issues and all sorts of other problems. The engine oil separates long before it shows its going bad by any lab.

I have seen now about 50+ times where people have overhead cam problems at a higher than normal frequency by trying to extend oil changes, where people who use regular Rotella or Delo go a million+ and never have a single cam problem.

here are my thoughts on bypass filter systems and the ISX. http://rawze.com/forums/showthread.php?t...617#pid617
