CM570 high idle enable

Thank you all for the replies. I went back to the truck yesterday with a fresh mind and rechecked all of the previous work by me and the previous mechanic.

When I originally got the reman ECM from the aftermarket supplier, it was programmed with the Cummins ESN, as well as the Kenworth VIN and appropriate functions. We plugged it in and everything was perfect. Jakes worked, High idle and cruise worked, all was good.


Well, Clint Wagner, the "mechanic" Who is now mad at us for not paying his ridiculous bill, snuck over to the yard in the middle of the night a couple weeks ago and changed a bunch of features and parameters in the ECM to make the truck unuseable the way its configured now.

Being an Auto Mechanic and not a class 8 mechanic put me at a disadvantage maybe, but I still know how to read a wiring diagram and I know to read and interpret a data stream.

With a loaner scan tool, I was able to get all the functions necessary for this truck to get back to work tomorrow morning.

I found one ground wire coming out of the ECM OEM connector, that was not connected to ground. After grounding that wire, the ECM now sees the cruise switches change state, and the cruise and high idle functions are operational. The truck is back to work this morning.

The only thing I don't have working is the tachometer. Does anyone have or can point me in the direction of a wiring diagram for that? There appears to be 2 signal wires at the tach, but I need to know where they come from and maybe what their waveforms look like.
