RE: Ravenwood update
2250 and 2350 fuel pump issues got me thinking. How much them pass rail pressure leakdown test (one where revs are increased and engine cut off and then rail pressure is measured after 30 seconds)? Perhaps too big injector backflow causes the HPFP to work overtime and fail sooner than expected? Although pump has extra capacity and engine will run seemingly fine, but there is still extra heat and load generated on HPFP.

What is the availability with 871 BRAND NEW genuine injectors? Metering actuators? Timing actuators? ECM? Sensors? Most likely 871 is manufactured still for off shore markets?

Engine may be good but what about rest of the truck from 871 era? Wiring issues? Rust? Is there higher taxes / road fees involved with older trucks like in Europe? 2013+ EURO6 trucks pay half the road tax (where I live it is 2000 euros for 4axle s and more truck + trailer combination for pre 2000 year trucks and 1100 euros for 2013+ EURO6 and newer emissions ) or some places even less than pre 2000 year trucks. 2009+ EURO V and newer emissions trucks can get special permits to transport total of 52t loads (3 axle twin tire trailer AND 4 axle truck OR 4 axle twin tire trailer AND 3 axle truck) compared to 44t on older ones (2 axle truck can still carry maximum 40t of total load legally regardless of trailer. 2009+ three axle tractor with twin tire 3 axle trailer can get permit to transport 48t total loads.
